Perrella Bagby circus part 3

days 3 and 4 were awesome......
we did figures with Anne...these are 5" x 7" boards...

I didn't scan the back but they have nice patterned paper on them. I put them together and couldn't help but think, "these would make excellent book covers...."

then a classic Lynne Perrella big collage. Mine was bright - everyone's work was so different and inspirational...it's not done but I still like it.

what do you think?

Perrella Bagby circus -part 2

Day 1 - The White Clown with Anne Bagby

First we sketched a whole bunch of faces.

Then we chose a few we liked and painted them with a white wash.
Next we added circus "makeup"

Then we adhered the faces to fun foam and mounted them on our collages.
These are 5" x 7" boards, by the way.

Day 2 - Lynne Perrella
Altering faces with Lynne Perrella is so much fun.

These are 8" x 10" canvas panels.

The first one is how it looked when I left class.

Lynne had made a suggestion on how to finish the background and I just got that done this weekend...

Finally, here is Cotton Candy Fro.  good times, eh?

Please feel free to comment!  :)
Thanks for stopping by,

Perrella Bagby Circus - part 1

it began with a drive up I-5 into the lovely farmlands of northern Washington state. I depart from my day job and unwind the stress and frustration as I travel. I leave early to get in line for the ferry to Friday Harbor and tell myself along the way "I have plenty of time. I have plenty of time" and I did and I made the 2:40 sailing. sweet.
I now enjoy an hour long boat ride through the San Juan Islands to Friday Harbor - my destination.

This is Thursday and class starts Friday morning so I have time to check in to the hotel and settle into my room before our meet and greet at Rhonda Scott's shop Vital Elements. She has prepared snacks and wine for us and of course Shopping! it was awesome....
I am tired and hungry and head out with a few other ladies. We end up grabbing dinner together and have fun time getting to know each other.

I have taken Lynne's classes at ArtFest twice and couldn't wait to see her again. She is fun, funny, and a true master of her genre.
Anne Bagby is an artist whose work I have admired for a long time and was so happy to have the opportunity to learn from her, and so close to home too! Anne is like a creative stick of dynamite - just full of excitement and ideas that she loves to share with her students. I have watched one of her DVDs and was so excited to meet her in person and learn from her.

more coming in part 2...
